Citrix Setup & Connection Instructions for Macintosh OS X



Important!

Please be aware there is a problem configuring the current version of Citrix for Macintosh (V11.0) to work with the PeopleSoft server. You should continue to use V10.0 until further notice is posted.


The following instructions demonstrate how to create additional ICA connections you may need within Citrix. Note if your computer was pre-configured by your LAN staff, some ICA connections may have been created for you.

To add a new ICA connection, follow the steps outlined below:

  1. If necessary: Download and install Citrix.
    • Start the install by selecting the file MacICA_OSX.dmg. If the splash screen below does not automatically appear, double-click the Citrix ICA Client icon that was extracted from the disk image.

    • Double-click the Citrix ICA Client icon in the install window.

    • Read and accept the license agreement that appears and click Agree button and then Continue button .

    • Select the volume where the Citrix ICA Client will be installed and click Continue button .
    • The default folder selected is Applications. If you want to change the install folder, click Choose Folder button before clicking Continue button to proceed.

    • Click Install button .
    • Enter your administrator password when prompted.
    • When the Install Succeeded message appears, click Close button .

  2. Open your Applications folder.
    • Double-click Citrix ICA Client Editor.

    • Click Default Settings button.

    • Select or verify TCP/IP appears in the Network Protocol drop-down menu.
    • Select or verify 128 Bit appears in the Encryption Level drop-down menu.
    • Leave the default selected for Server Group.
    • Click Add button .

    • Type the server address and click OK button .
      • For KRC-Remote Farm: krc-icamb.oitlan.oit.ohio-state.edu
      • For the 8.45 DEV and 8.9 Environments: dev-icam.itdev.it.ohio-state.edu
      • For Arms Server Farm: ica.service.ohio-state.edu

    • Click Save button.

    • Select Published Application and click Browse button .
    • Select an entry from the list that appears (for example, KRC-Remote Farm) and click Select button .
    • Leave User Specified Credentials selected, but do not enter your login information at this time. You will be prompted for your username and password when you connect.
    • Verify Use Default is selected under Network Protocol and that TCP/IP appears in the menu list.
    • Leave Use Default selected under Server Location.
    • Select Connection Properties and then select Windows and Sounds.

    • The defaults for Windows Size and Window Colors are fine. Sounds and Full Screen Mode can be selected or turned off as you choose.
    • Click Save button.


  3. To open a Citrix connection, double-click the desktop icon you created. You will be prompted for your username and password.
