Citrix Setup & Connection Instructions for Macintosh OS X
The instructions that follow explain how to set up the Citrix ICA client for Macintosh OS X (MacOS 10.1 or later). This type of connection will open a separate Windows-type session on your computer.
- First download the install
file from the Download Clients page at the Citrix web site:
http://www.citrix.com
- A file is downloaded called "macICA_OSX.dmg". If Disk Copier doesn't
automatically mount the image, double-click on this file. (If necessary,
first double-click to unzip the file.)
- When the image is mounted, a Citrix ICA Client icon appears on your desktop.
- Double-click on the icon; a new window opens that contains a folder labeled "Citrix
ICA Client." Drag this folder to your Applications folder
and then open it. Double-click on Citrix ICA Client Editor.app.

- Click on Default Settings.

- Do the following:
Select TCP/IP from the Network Protocol drop down menu.
Select 128 Bit from the Encryption Level drop down menu.
Click Add.

- Type ica.service.ohio-state.edu and click OK.
- When the "Editor Default Settings" dialog box reappears, click Save and
then close it.
- Click Published Application as shown above and then click Browse.

- Choose Arms Server Farm and then click Select.

- Click the Window tab in the "Client Editor" dialog box.
- If you like, you can change the following default settings by unchecking
Use Default and then selecting a new value.
Window Size can be set however you prefer, although the normal screen size is 1024 x 768.
Window Colors should be set to at least 256 colors.
- Click on Save to create a login profile you can use to open a connection to Citrix as needed. If you do this, it's best to not include your password in the profile. You will be prompted for your password.
