Repair network (Windows XP & High speed network)
At times odd network connection problems may occur. These can include inability to send/receive e-mail, connect to some machines or slow network access.
If you have a network, DSL, cable modem or other high speed network access and Windows XP the repair network connection technique is a quick and simple process that can be used to solve some of these problems.
Click on "My Network Places" icon on desktop or click on start and choose "My Network Places" from the menu.
Click on "view network connections". You should see an icon representing your LAN or High speed network connections. Click on the icon. Some new menu options appear under "Network Tasks" to the left.
Click on the "Repair this connection"
You can also click on the "View status of this connection" to see more information on the connection, including the number of characters being sent and received which my be useful in diagnosing problems.
