Error -38 in Eudora 6.0 for Mac OS X
If, when checking e-mail, Eudora 6.0 or later for Mac OS X gives an error -38, stating that it's having trouble creating an attachment, the problem is likely in the Eudora Settings file.
Deleting the Eudora Settings and Eudora Settings.bkup files should clear up the problem. The settings files should be located in the Eudora Folder, normally found in a user's Home Directory, under Documents. If the files can't be found there, try typing Command(Apple Key)-F from within the Finder, and searching for the Eudora Folder, or the settings files.
After deleting the settings files, it will be necessary to reconfigure Eudora. Also, old e-mail messages that had been checked but left on the server will be downloaded again, as Eudora will no longer know which messages it has seen before.
