If you receive an e-mail like this, do not open the attached file. Delete the message and attachment immediately. If you believe your machine is infected or have concerns about becoming infected, there are a few ways you can safeguard your PC.

If you have McAfee Virus Scan installed, updating it to the latest DAT files and scanning your machine will allow you to clean your system. If you are connected to the Internet, you can update your machine's DAT files through the Virus Scan Console. You can start the Console by clicking Start > All Programs > Network Associates, and then clicking the Virus Scan Console icon. Once the Console is running, update the DAT files by right-clicking on AutoUpdate and selecting "Start". When the process completes, double-click Scan All Fixed Disks, highlight "All fixed disks" and press the "Scan Now" button.

If you do not have antivirus software installed, you can download McAfee Virus Scan at: http://osusls.osu.edu/upgrades/stg2wnx.html

If you are running an antivirus software other than McAfee Virus Scan, please see the manufacturer's web page for updates.

In general, you should be very cautious with unfamiliar attachments. Simply not opening attachments them will protect you from the majority of viruses. More information about the W32/Bagle@MM virus is available at: http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_100965.htm.
