Long Distance Service (For Personal Use)



OIT T&N provides the following long distance services:

Traditional Long Distance (Authorization Codes)

Details

  • Authorization codes allow domestic and international calling from all 50 states and Canada.

Cost (Charges)

  • 4.5 cents per minute / 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
  • Calls from off campus housing will incur a 3% Federal Excise Tax
  • Using OIT T&N toll free access numbers (800-OSU-6147 in US; 800-652-3971 in Canada) will incur a $.55 charge per call
  • Calls placed from payphones using the 614-292-5500, 330-287-7533, or 740-364-7770 access numbers will require the proper coin deposit to initiate the call
  • International calling rates.

Dialing

  • Domestic calls
    • On campus, dial 1 then the six digit authorization code followed by the long distance number
    • Off campus, dial 292-5500 to access OIT T&N long distance service. When prompted, enter the six digit authorization code followed by the five digit PIN number.
  • International calls
    • On campus, dial 1 then the six digit authorization code followed by 011 - country code - city code (optional) - phone number.
    • Off campus, dial 292-5500 to access OIT T&N long distance service. When prompted, enter the six digit authorization code followed by the five digit PIN number. Press option 2 then follow the prompts.
  • To use your authorization code and PIN number from outside of the 614 area code in the United States, dial 1-800-OSU-6147. In Canada, dial 1-800-652-3971. (After completing a call, you can dial ## to make two more consecutive calls without incurring additional $.55 charges)

Bundled Minutes

OIT T&N 500 Plan

  • $10.00 per month
  • 500 minutes per month. (Unused minutes do NOT rollover)
  • Minutes used beyond purchased 500 will cost 4.5 cents per minute

OIT T&N 2000 Plan

  • $20.00 per month
  • 2000 minutes per month. (Unused minutes do NOT rollover)
  • Minutes used beyond purchased 2000 will cost 4.5 cents per minute

Dialing

  • Domestic calls
    • On campus, dial 1 then the six digit authorization code followed by the long distance number
    • Off campus, dial 292-5500 to access UOIT T&N long distance service. When prompted, enter the six digit authorization code followed by the five digit PIN number.
  • International calls
    • On campus, dial 1 then the six digit authorization code followed by 011 - country code - city code (optional) - phone number.
    • Off campus, dial 292-5500 to access OIT T&N long distance service. When prompted, enter the six digit authorization code followed by the five digit PIN number. Press option 2 then follow the prompts.
  • To use your authorization code and PIN number from outside of the 614 area code, dial 1-800-OSU-6147

Personal 800 Service

Details

  • Avoids need of making collect calls
  • Anyone can call you from any location within the 50 states for one low rate
  • Destination number can be changed at any time.

Cost (Charges)

  • $1.95 per month
  • 4.5 cents per completed call
  • Completed calls are calls answered by a person or answering device of any kind.

Dialing

  • Others dial 1-888-788-8984 and enter your 5-digit Personal 800 Code to reach you instantly.

Prepaid International Calling (Mobilesphere).

NOTE: Mobilesphere Calling Cards cannot be used in International locations other than Canada.
