Long Distance Service (For Business Use)
OIT T&N provides the following long distance services:
Traditional Long Distance (Authorization Codes)
Details
- Authorization codes allow domestic and international calling. 1-900 access can be provided if specifically requested in writing to units@osu.edu.
- Each staff member or project area can be assigned their own code, based on the department's needs.
- Any Auth Codes ordered will be tied to the specific departmental chart field information designated and will appear on the department’s OIT T&N statement each month
Cost (Charges)
- 4.5 cents per minute / 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
- International calling rates.
Dialing
- Domestic calls
- International calls
- Dial 1 then the six digit authorization code followed by 011 - country code - city code (optional) - phone number.
Details
- Provides a way to place long distance business calls from off campus locations or when traveling on university business.
- Couples authorization code with a secure PIN number.
Cost (Charges)
- 4.5 cents per minute / 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
- Using OIT T&N toll free access numbers (800-OSU-6147 in US; 800-652-3971 in Canada) will incur a $.55 charge per call
- Calls placed from payphones using the 614-292-5500, 330-287-7533, or 740-364-7770 access numbers will require the proper coin deposit to initiate the call
- International calling rates.
Dialing
- Dial 292-5500 to access OIT T&N long distance service. When prompted, enter the six digit authorization code followed by the five digit PIN number.
- Press option 1 for Domestic calls.
- Press option 2 for International calls.
- To use your authorization code and PIN number from outside of the 614 area code in the United States, dial 1-800-OSU-6147. In Canada, dial 1-800-652-3971. (After completing a call, you can dial ## to make two more consecutive calls without incurring additional $.55 charges)
NOTE: If you travel abroad and need to place calls from international locations, contact OIT T&N Customer Service about alternative calling card options.
