Carmen: Import Respondus Quiz [Instructor]
Following are the steps to follow if you want to use Respondus to create a quiz for use in Carmen.
Within Respondus:
- Select the IMS QTI Personality from the Current Personality drop-down menu before starting a new quiz (or opening an existing one).
- After you create or modify your quiz, click the Preview and Publish tab.
- In the column on the left, click the Save QTI XML File button.
- Under Select Preferences, choose the desired option for Points (decimal numbers or percentages). Under File Format, choose the QTIXML file option.
- Click the Save As button.
- Navigate to a location where the file will be saved, and then click the Save button.
- Click OK.
Note: If you inadvertently saved your quiz as a .zip file, open the zipped archive and copy the [quizname].xml file somewhere outside of the archive.
Within Carmen:
- Log in to your Carmen course.
- Access the Content tool.
- Under Administration on the right side of the window, click
. - Click Select a file to upload and then click
. - Locate and select the .xml file you created within Respondus.
- Click
. When you see the screen with messages about downloading and reading the file, click again. - A Select Course Material window appears. Check the box next to Quizzes and then choose the import options.
- Click .
- Messages confirming the imported material appear. Click to continue.
- When you see a message saying the import was successful, click the Return link to go back to the main Content page.
Tip: To check your quiz, access the Quizzes tool. You should see the new quiz at the end of the list. Click on the quiz name to preview.
