OSU Central E-mail
The Office of Information Technology maintains a central e-mail system for use by members of the Ohio State University community. OSU Internet e-mail addresses are in the format lastname.#@osu.edu, such as doe.9999@osu.edu. Members of the OSU community can choose to read their e-mail on the OIT-managed central e-mail system, or have mail sent to their OSU Internet e-mail address forwarded to their departmental server, or to another Internet e-mail account.
To activate your OSU Internet username and e-mail address, go to our Account Management site, and select the OSU Internet Username tab, then Activate account. To change delivery options for your OSU Internet username, go to the Manage OSU Internet Username site, select osu.edu E-mail, and Change delivery.
You can check your OSU Internet e-mail on the web using OSU Webmail, or you can use a more full featured e-mail client such as Eudora, Outlook, Apple Mail, etc. Instructions for checking your OSU Internet e-mail in OSU Webmail and several other clients can be found in our knowledge base.
