Carmen: Uploading Files to the Dropbox [Student]
Uploading a file to the Carmen Dropbox is a two-step process. It is essential that you complete these steps in their entirety, or your file may not reach the instructor.
This is the first window you will see upon entering a specific Dropbox:
To upload a file, first click on the Add a File button just above the "Comments" box. This will bring up a pop-up window:
Browse to find the file for upload; this step may be repeated by clicking on the Add button just below. Once all files have been selected, click on the Upload button to queue these files for delivery to the Dropbox. We are NOT finished; there is one last step:
At this window, you may add comments regarding the files that your Instructor may read. To complete the file transfer to the Dropbox, you must click on the Upload button in the lower-right corner.
You cannot delete or change files that you have already submitted to the Dropbox. The solution is to make whatever changes are needed and then upload the file again. Note the original file will remain in the Dropbox, so your instructor will see more than one copy. It is a good idea to include a note in the Comments: box explaining the situation when you upload the updated file.
Concerned students can always verify their success; to do this, just navigate to the Dropbox History window:
This is also an excellent way to get a copy if you cannot find the original file on your computer. Locate the file you need and then right-click on the filename link (ctrl-click for Mac users). After making your changes, upload the file again.
