OSU Wireless-Network: Setup for Odyssey Client (PPC)
Some handheld devices, like Dell's Axim X30, have a built in Odyssey client that can be configured to use OSUWireless-Network. See the steps below for instructions on setting up the built-in Odyssey Client on Axim X30 PDA’s.
NOTE: First, create an OSUWireless ID and PIN at the OIT Account Management site.
The Dell Axim X50 requires a ROM version update to connect successfully to the OSU Wireless-Network. Please see the following article:

Configuring the Odyssey Client:
- Ensure that wireless is turned on.
- Make sure the Odyssey Client has started.
The Odyssey icon should be visible in the lower right corner. - Tap on the Odyssey icon to open the Client window.
- Tap Settings and then Configure.
- Under the "Networks" screen, Tap Add.
- Under “What is the name of the network?” type osuwireless and Tap Next.
- Choose Association Mode: WPA Use down arrow to scroll down to WPA if you don't see it in the list.
- Choose Encryption Method: TKIP
- Make sure Authenticate using 802.1x and Keys will be generated automatically for data privacy are both checked. Tap Next.
- Click Add... and select EAP-PEAP. Click OK.
If any other EAP types are listed after you have added EAP-PEAP, select them and click Remove. - Check Validate Server Certificate.
- Tap Next.
- In the next window, choose the inner authentication protocol: EAP-MSCHAP-v2.
Tap Next. - Enter your OSUWireless ID in the Username field.
- Permit login using password should be checked.
- You may choose either Prompt for password or enter your OSU Wireless Username and Password number in the window. Tap Next.
This finishes the setup. - Tap Finish. Tap OK.
- Tap Settings -> Trusted Servers.
- Tap Add....
- Tap Browse....
- Under the "Trusted Root CAs" tab, choose Equifax Secure... and tap OK four times.
Connecting to the network:
- Tap the Odyssey icon
- check the Connect to: osuwireless checkbox.
- Tap Reconnect.
If you did not enter your password in step 16, you will be prompted at this time.
You should now be connected to the OSUWireless Network. If you receive a question about certificates click on OK to allow connection.
