Sports and Special Event Telecommunications Requests



The Office of Information Technology provides telecommunication services to non-OSU entities covering games and other special events at university-owned facilities. This includes: Ohio Stadium, St. John Arena, Value City Arena, Woody Hayes Athletic Facility, Bill Davis Stadium, Jessie Owens Stadium, Buckeye Field (Women's Softball), Ice Rink, The Wexner Center and more.

To establish service, a written request on company letterhead must be faxed to OIT Telecommunications and Networking Customer Service at 614-688-3425. The request should contain exactly what/where services are needed. Additionally, OIT requires scheduling at least 5 business days in advance to ensure the service will be live prior to the event.

The following options are available:

Telephone Service (sometimes referred to as "POTS"): A telephone line and phone set will be installed at the requested location (typically at a press box or broadcast seat). The phone line automatically includes unrestricted calling access for direct dial long distance.

  • Monthly Fee: $28.00. OIT does not prorate this event line charge.
  • Long Distance Charges: Domestic rate is 4.5 cents per minute.
  • Event Fee: $37.00. Each line/Circuit is billed an event fee per day, per event
  • Optional phone features can be added and are listed on the Telecommunications website.

  • Monthly Fee: $5.05. OIT does not prorate this event Dry Pair Circuit charge.
  • Event Fee: $37.00. Each line/Circuit is billed an event fee per day, per event

ISDN: Intergrated Services Digital Network. ISDN is a digital telephone line that can be used for voice, fax, and data communications like a regular telephone line, but can transport data five times faster (or more) than a 28.8Kbps V.34 modem and allow you talk on the phone with one person while sending data to another. ISDN service consists of 2 phone lines with sequential phone numbers followed by 0101 (i.e. 614-247-2001-0101 and 614-247-2002-0101). The phone numbers are also referred to as SPID numbers.

Monthly Fee: $38.00. OIT does not prorate this ISDN event charge.
  • Event Fee: $37.00. Each line/Circuit is billed an event fee per day, per event
