Directory Assistance Dialing Instructions
Using OIT long distance, the following tables describe how to place a directory assistance call.
From campus telephones

From Off campus phones

| Campus | 614-292-6446 |
| Local or Long Distance | Dial 614-292-5500 or 1-800-678-6147 and follow the prompts. The system prompts you to "enter the area code and phone number you wish to call." Dial as follows: area code + 555-1212 NOTE: For long distance directory assistance you must know the area code that they will be calling. |
| International | Directory assistance using OIT long distance off-campus is not possible. You may be able to dial 00 directly. Check with your local phone service provider for costs involved. |
| Toll Free Numbers | Dial 614-292-5500 or 1-800-678-6147 and follow the prompts. The system prompts you to "enter the area code and phone number you wish to call." Dial as follows: 800-555-1212 |
To order an Authorization Code, fax a 100W with the request to OIT T&N at 688-HELP (4357 OPTION 2).
NOTE: Prior to October 1, 2004 Administrative customers were able to dial 411 or 9-555-1212 for information from an unrestricted phone line. Directory assistance now requires the use of an authorization code due to related fees. Typical directory assitance costs are $1.00 per call.
