Error during Virex definitions eUpdate
In this case, the eUpdate process fails with the message: "An error occurred while installing the update."
Going to File -> View Log in the Virex application shows the following:
2005-11-10 07:22:19 Virex Application reports: An error occurred while installing the update.
2005-11-10 07:22:19 eUpdate reports: Installation of virus definition files failed with an error of -40119
2005-11-10 07:22:19 eUpdate reports: Error from the installer is installer: Error the package path specified was invalid: '/tmp/V7051109.pkg'.
This can be the result of having the Virex application installed to a folder other than the Applications folder (this includes a sub-folder of the Applications folder).
Moving the Virex application to the Applications folder should resolve this problem.
The Virex Hotfix available from OSU SLS should also be installed to prevent similar errors.
