Setting File Views In Windows XP



In order to set a global file view to be applied to all folders. Do the following:
  1. Open any folder and go to the View pull-down menu.
  2. Select what type of view you would like. Ex - List, Details..
  3. Go to the Tools pull-down menu.
  4. Select Folder Options.
  5. Click on the "View" tab.
  6. Click Apply to All Folders.
  7. Choose Yes to the Folder views message box.
  8. Click OK to exit.

To reset global settings, under the "View" tab of the Folder Options window, select Reset All Folders.
