OSU Wireless-Network: Requirements
The OSU Wireless-Network has three requirements:
- An active OSU Wireless-Network username and password
- A current and compatible operating system
- A compatible wireless network interface card
Username and Password:
The OSU Wireless-Network utilizes alternative credentials than the osu.edu email system for authentication. These credentials can be created and managed via the OIT Account Management page.Operating System:
The operating systems supported in the OSU Wireless-Network are as follows:- Windows XP/Windows 2000
- Mac OS 10.2.x and higher 1
- Linux
- Tested PDA operating systems
1 Mac OS 10.3.x and higher provide an 802.1x supplicant and will natively work with osuwireless. Mac OS 10.2.x, however, will require a third-party supplicant such as Aegis.
Compatible Wireless Network Card:
A compatible wireless network card would be one that supports:- IEEE 802.1x authentication
- The wireless encryption standard, WPA with TKIP
- The authentication protocol, PEAP with MSCHAPv2
