Account Management: Change Webmail From Name, View Account Settings/History

The osu.edu E-mail tab on OIT's Account Management page also offers these services:

  • Change From name: This allows you to change the name (not the e-mail address) that appears on the "From" line when sending e-mail from within OSU Webmail. This is also sometimes called your "display name" within OSU Webmail.

Note: This change only applies to your personal osu.edu e-mail account - changes for departmental, cluster, or organizational accounts must still be sent through the OIT Technology Support Center at 8help@osu.edu or 614-688-HELP (4357).

  • View account settings: This age will let you see whether mail sent to your osu.edu e-mail address is held on the OSU central e-mail servers (Mail delivery option: mailbox) or forwarded to another e-mail address. If you forward your mail, it will show you the forwarding address that we have on record for you.

It also shows your current e-mail storage limit (mail quota) in megabytes, valid osu.edu e-mail addresses for your account, your current display name (name in From: address) for OSU Webmail, whether or not you have signed up for the Alumni Lifetime E-mail Forwarding service, the date your osu.edu e-mail account was created, and whether or not you have signed up for OSU's personal server-side Anti-Spam service.

  • View account activity: This page lets you view the history of changes made to your personal osu.edu e-mail account, such as forwarding changes, changes in your Webmail From name, etc.

NOTE: These Account Management services do not work with non-personal accounts. See Account Management and Non-Personal Accounts for more information.
