OSU Wireless-Network: Setup for Intel Pro/ Wireless Utility



The following instructions apply to computers that are running the Intel Pro/Wireless Utility.

NOTE: First, create an OSUWireless ID and PIN at the OIT Account Management site.

Configure the Wireless Network Connection on Your Laptop

  1. Double Click on the Intel Pro/Wireless Utility icon from the system tray.
  2. Under Available Networks select osuwireless.
    1. Press Configure
    2. Press Configure
  3. Type osuwireless for the profile name.
    1. Click Next.
    2. Click Next.
    3. Click Advanced in the lower right hand corner if not already selected.
    4. For Authentication Type choose PEAP
    5. For Encryption Type choose TKIP
  4. In Step 1 of 2: PEAP User:
  5. For Authentication Protocol choose MS-CHAP-v2
  6. Select Use the following:
    1. For your username, insert your OSU Wireless Username (name.#w)
    2. Leave the Domain field blank.
    3. For your password, insert your OSU Wireless Password
    4. Confirm your OSU Wireless Passowrd
  7. Click Next
  • In Step 2 of 2: PEAP Server
    1. For Certificate Issuer: choose Equifax Secure Certificate Authority
  • Click Next and OK.
