Vista TCP Scaling and Login to OSU Secure Websites

Some Windows Vista machines are being shipped with Third Party Internet Security software (Mcafee, Norton, AOL, etc.) that are configured to deny access to Carmen, Buckeyelink, South Campus Gateway Fundamentals of Engineering for Honors Program(feh.osu.edu)FEH and Library Ez Proxy, and other OSU Internet Username-based login sites(Shibboleth). To regain access you can preform one of two solutions. One solution is to uninstall the Mcafee trial and download Mcafee Virus Scan 8.5 from the OSU Site Licensed Software site.

Solution #1:Mcafee Internet Security

Click Start->Control Panel. Select Programs and Features. Right-click on Mcafee Internet Security Suite 2007 and select uninstall. After the uninstall is successful, follow the instructions on the Site Licensed Software page to install Mcafee Virus Scan

WARNING: OIT does not recommend the use of any Windows-based computer, especially one connected to the Internet, without antivirus software installed. Please download and install Mcafee Virus Scan 8.5 from the SLS site as soon as possible after uninstalling Mcafee Internet Security Suite 2007.
