McAfee Scan Engine Version 4400 No Longer Supported
McAfee has released the following information regarding their 4400 scan engine:
The McAfee Scan Engine version 4400 officially entered the End Of Support stage on Jan 31st, 2007 (http://www.mcafee.com/us/enterprise/support/customer_service/end_life.html). This End Of Support date was set in July 2006 when the McAfee Scan Engine version 5100 was released.
Though the 4400 Engine is now End of Support, there may be some systems still running this engine version. This message is to inform you that after April 30th, 2007, the McAfee Scan Engine version 4400 will no longer function with DAT files released by McAfee Avert Labs. Any product that is installed and has not been upgraded to the McAfee Scan Engine version 5100 will no longer provide protection for those systems.
