Configuring Eudora to check E-mail
The commercial version of Eudora, for both Macintosh and Windows computers, is available from our Software Downloads site.
To configure Eudora to check your OSU E-mail, do the following:
In Eudora for Windows, go to the Tools pull-down menu and choose Options. In Eudora for Macintosh, go to the Special pull-down menu and choose Settings. Click on the "Getting Started" icon
Enter the following information, then click OK:
- Real Name - your first and last name
- User/Login Name - your OSU username (lastname.#)
- Mail Server (Incoming) - pop.service.ohio-state.edu
- Return Address - lastname.#@osu.edu
- SMTP Server (Outgoing)*** - smtp.service.ohio-state.edu
***NOTE: If you connect from an OSU Residence Hall, use smtp.resnet.ohio-state.edu . If you do not connect to the Internet through OSU, you will need to use your ISP's outgoing mail server. See this page for details.
