Creating a signature file in Eudora (Windows)



Creating a signature file in Eudora 4.x and higher

  1. Go to the Tools pull-down menu and click Signatures, or click on the signature window's tab if it is the inactive window within Eudora.
  2. Right click anywhere in the signature window and click New
  3. This will open a 'Signature Name' dialogue box. This window is where you type the 'Signature Name'.
  4. After typing a name, click OK. You then get a blank page. This page is where you type the actual signature.
  5. After you are finished typing your signature, you should go under File and then to Save.
  6. Close the signature window.


To have the signature automatically attach to a message do the following:
In Eudora, go to Tools, Options and "Sending Mail" (or "Composing Mail" in Eudora 6).
By the text, "Default Signature" choose from the drop down menu the signature you wish to be your primary signature.

To change a signature on a temporary basis:
Eudora has a signature pull down menu box that allows you to easily change the desired signature. This pull down menu box is located right above the email template. The pull down menu changes the signature for only the current message. The signature reverts back to the default signature for the next message.


Creating a signature file in Eudora 2.1.1

Under Eudora version 2.1.2, you need to go under Window and then to Signature
Type up what you want for your signature and then save it.
For an alternate signature you need to go under Window and then to Alternate Signature
Type up what you want for your signature and then save it.

To have the signature automatically attach to a message, do the following:
Go under Special and then to Settings and select "Sending Mail" under the Category menu.
Make sure that the "Use Signature" option has an "X" by it.
Whenever you send a message it will automatically sned your signature out with the message

To change a signature on a temporary basis:
Eudora has a signature pull down menu box that allows you to easily change the desired signature. This pull down menu changes the signature for only the current message. The signature reverts back to the default signature for the next message.


Creating a signature file in Eudora 3.x

If you have version 3.x, you will want to go under "Tools and then Signatures and then to New.
This will open a 'Signature Name' dialogue box. This window is where you type the 'Signature Name'. After typing a name, click OK
You then get a blank page. This page is where you type the actual signature. After you are finished typing your signature, you should go under File and then to Save.
You can then close the signature window.

To have the signature automatically attach to a message do the following:
In Eudora, go to Tools and Options and "Personalities".
Choose the personality you want to use (generally dominant).
By the text "default signature" is a pull down menu for signature choice - choose the signature that you will wish to use the majority of the time.
This lets you automatically attach a signature to your messages.

To change a signature on a temporary basis.
Eudora has a signature pull down menu box that allows you to easily change the desired signature. This pull down menu box is located right above the email template. The pull down menu changes the signature for only the current message. The signature reverts back to the default signature for the next message.
