Adding & Removing Subscribers From A List



Listserves can be configured so that subscribers can add themselves to a list using the subscribe command, or so that new subscribers require the approval of one of the list owners.

In either case, the list owners can always add and remove subscribers on their list.

The easiest way for an owner to do this is using the List Owner's Management Tool webpage, located at:

https://oit.osu.edu/listserv/index.php

Log into the page using your OSU Internet Username and password, then use the buttons on the left for Adding & Removing subscribers.

Alternately, a list owner can add and remove subscribers by sending e-mail to the list processor directly. Send e-mail to: listproc@lists.acs.ohio-state.edu with no subject, and in the body of the message put:

add listname listpassword doe.999@osu.edu John Doe

--where listname and listpassword should be replaced with the correct information for your list. For removing a subscriber, the command would be:

delete listname listpassword doe.999@osu.edu

NOTE: If you would like to remove ALL the subscribers from a list, send e-mail to 8help@osu.edu with your request. Make sure to include the name of your list, your owner e-mail address and either the list password or the last five digits of your social security number for verification. Please allow 5 working days for us to process the request.
