Configuring Entourage 2001 for News Reading
To setup Entourage 2001 (Office 2001 Macintosh) to use the OSU news server, do the following:
1. Startup Entourage, go to the "Tools" menu and select "Accounts."
2. Click on the "News" tab. (You may want to highlight the "Microsoft News Server" here, then click "Delete" if you will not be using it.)
3. Click the "New" button (or click the down arrow and choose "News"), chose the email account you would like to post under, enter a title for your Organization if you would like it to appear in your posts, then click the right arrow.
4. Enter the news server address: nntp.service.ohio-state.edu
If you do not connect to the Internet through OSU, check the box labeled "My news server requires me to log on." (If you choose this option, there will be an intermediate step where you enter your OSU username (lastname.# ex: smith.9999) and password. Click the right arrow.
5. Enter a name for the news account (ex: OSU News Server), then click "Finish" and close the "Accounts" window. The news server will appear at the left under "Folder List."
