- Instructions for Checking your OSU E-mail

If you do not have one of the above clients, here are the settings you will need in order to configure your email program to check your OSU email account:
Username/Login Name: lastname.# (all lowercase)
Return address: lastname.#@osu.edu
Incoming mail server (POP): pop.service.ohio-state.edu
Outgoing mail server (SMTP)***: smtp.service.ohio-state.edu
***NOTE: If you connect to the Internet from an OSU Residence Hall, use smtp.resnet.ohio-state.edu. If you use an Internet Service Provider other than The Ohio State University, you will need to use your ISP's outgoing mail server. Click here for details.
