Listserv Commands return a "Hacker Attack"
Sometimes when a list owner tries to submit a command to the listprocessor, either from the Mailing List Owner's Interface or using e-mail commands, a "Warning: HACKER ATTACK" error message is sent to all the owners.
This error is usually not a sign that someone is trying to hack into the list - more commonly it simply means that a valid list owner submitted a command to the listprocessor, using the correct password, but from an e-mail address that is not recognized as an owner on that mailing list.
When submitting commands to the listprocessor, make sure that the "From" address (if an e-mail command) or the "Your E-mail Address" field (on the List Owner's web page) has a valid owner e-mail address listed. If you're not sure what e-mail address is listed as an owner, check what addresses the 'HACKER ATTACK' error message was sent to - that should have the address which the listprocessor has for each owner.
