Important to Apply OS X Upgrades in Order
Some users have reported problems in updating software via Software Update in OS X. Users that are running OS 10.1 to 10.1.2 are often presented with a list of 10-12 updates, including several security updates along with an upgrade to 10.1.3. It is important to apply the security updates before upgrading to 10.1.3. Otherwise the user will not be able to apply the security update afterwards.
Sometimes earlier upgrades will also be combined into newer system software upgrades. For example, several security upgrades released after Mac OS 10.3 was released have been added into the Mac OS 10.3.3 upgrade.
