Carmen: Removal of WebDAV Service [Instructors]
The WebDAV feature in Carmen is a service that allows an Instructor to upload files directly to their content area via a secure network connection. There is a flaw in the WebDAV service that requires its removal. The flaw is sufficiently damaging that we must withdraw the service as soon as possible. As of October 1st, 2007, Carmen no longer supports any WebDAV connections.
Users who depend upon WebDAV to upload and distribte content will need to revert to zipping files and uploading the .zip files instead. This includes anyone using Dreamweaver to manage their course content.
We are waiting for our vendor (Desire2Learn) to repair this service, and we currently have no expectation of a repair in the near future. Please be patient, and we will update the Carmen community once we have further information on this issue.
