Central E-mail Migration: Check Your Account Status
As OIT migrates accounts to the new central e-mail system, you can check your account's migration status from our Account Management page.
To do so:
- Go to Account Management, and click the "osu.edu E-mail" tab.
- Click the "View account settings" tab.
- Enter your OSU Internet Username (lastname.#) and password.
- Click the View Account Settings button (just below where you entered the username and password).
You'll get a table titled osu.edu E-Mail Account Summary. In that table, look for the second and third items - "Account Status" and "Migration Status". There are three possible situations:

-- Accounts in this state have not yet been migrated to the new e-mail system, and should be functioning normally, with the traditional OSU Webmail interface, and no changes to POP or IMAP access.

-- Accounts in this state have been selected and queued for migration to the new e-mail system. An account may be queued for several hours, perhaps even overnight, but the actual account migration takes only minutes. Accounts queued for migration can still be used while they await migration, although certain changes to the account are disabled (e.g., changing forwarding address). During the minutes it takes to migrate accounts, the account can not be used - attempts to use it will result in an invalid username or password error - and all incoming email will be held for delivery after the account migration is complete. If you're in this state and unable to access your e-mail for longer than 30 minutes, please contact 8HELP at 614-688-HELP (4357).

-- Accounts in this state have been successfully moved to the new e-mail system, and should be functioning normally, with no changes to POP or IMAP access. Migrated accounts WILL see a different looking OSU Webmail interface.
Additionally, after your account has been migrated, you'll be able to see some information on your account's migration:

-- Where "Messages Migrated" is the number of messages in all folders that were migrated from the old mail system to the new. "Kilobytes Migrated" is the total amount of data migrated in all those messages (including attachments), in kilobytes. "Migration Date" is the date that your account was migrated to the new mail system.
