OSU Webmail: Change Display / From Name



The full name shown in OSU Webmail is initially populated automatically by your full-name on file in our system when the account is created. This shows both on OSU Webmail's greeting ("Welcome John Doe"), and in the "From" line of outgoing mail (From: John Doe ).

For personal accounts, you can change this value from our Account Management web site:

  1. Click the "osu.edu E-mail" tab.
  2. Click the "Change From name" tab.
  3. Enter your OSU Internet Username and password.
  4. Enter the display name you would like to use in the "Name for From Address" box.
  5. Click the Change E-mail button.

If you would like to change the display name for a non-personal account (such as a cluster or departmental e-mail account), please contact the IT Service Desk at 8help@osu.edu or call 614-688-HELP (4357).
