OSU Wireless-Network: Setup for Nokia Phones (SymbianOS)



The following steps should allow any Nokia smartphone running the SymbianOS to connect to the osuwireless network

  1. On your Nokia Phone, select Menu > Tools > Settings > Connection
  2. Select Access Points
  3. Select Options (left soft button) > New Access Point
    1. Connection name: osuwireless
    2. Data bearer: Wireless LAN
    3. WLAN netw. name: Enter manually > osuwireless
    4. Network status: Public
    5. WLAN netw. mode: Infrastructure
    6. WLAN security mode: 802.1x
    7. WLAN security setting
      1. WPA/WPA2: EAP
      2. EAP plug-in settings
        1. While EAP-PEAP is highlighted, select Enable from the Options (left soft button) menu
        2. While EAP-PEAP is highlighted, select Edit from the Options (left soft button) menu
            **SETTINGS TAB**
          1. Authority Certificate: Equifax Secure Certi...
          2. User name in use: User defined
          3. User name: your lastname.#w
          4. Realm in use: User defined
          5. **EAPs TAB**
          6. Disable all eap-types except for EAP-MSCHAPv2
          7. While EAP-MSCHAPv2 is highlighted, select Edit from the Options (left soft button) menu
            • Enter in your osuwireless username
            • Enter in your osuwireless password
            • Click Back (right soft button)
        3. Click Back (right soft button)
      3. Disable all eap-types except EAP-PEAP
      4. Click Back (right soft button)
    8. Click Back (right soft button)
  4. Click Back (right soft button)

When osuwireless is in range, your device should automatically connect wirelessly.
