OSU Wireless-Network: Setup for Android OS




Connecting Android OS devices to Osuwireless

Note: First, create an OSUWireless USERNAME and PASSWORD at the OIT Account Management site
  1. Go to 'All Programs' and select 'Settings'.
  2. Scroll down and select 'Wireless Controls'.
  3. Select 'Wifi Settings'
    1. You need to select the 'Wifi' check box within to turn on the wifi adapter in order to configure a connection.
  4. Under Wi-Fi networks you will see a list of available networks, if you see 'osuwireless' select that to configure. If you do not see it, proceed to manual configure below.
  5. In the pull down menu of 'EAP Type', select 'PEAP'. In the 'Sub Type' pull down menu, select 'PEAPv0/MSCHAPv2'.
  6. In the 'username' field enter your Name.#w.
  7. In the password field enter your wireless password (not your Kerberos/email pwd).
  8. Select Connect. The account settings, including username/password are now saved and you will connect automatically when 'osuwireless' is in range.
Manual configuration of 'osuwireless'
  1. Scroll to the bottom and select 'Add Wi-Fi Network'
  2. In 'Network SSID' enter 'osuwireless'
  3. Scroll down to 'Security' and select 'WPA Enterprise'
  4. Scroll down to 'EAP Type' and select 'PEAP'
  5. Scroll down to 'Sub type' and select 'PEAPv0/MSCHAPv2'.
  6. Scroll down and enter your Name.#w in the username field, and your osuwireless password in the password field (not your Kerberos/email pwd).
  7. Select save and you with connect. The account settings, including username/password are now save and you will connect automatically when 'osuwireless' is in range.
