Mac OS Support
OIT currently supports Macintosh computers running Mac OS X, the minimum OS is 10.3 or later on a G3 or higher processor. Mac OS 9.2.2 is not supported as a stand-alone operating system, only when used as Classic mode running under Mac OS X.
Note: Apple does not support Mac OS 10.3 or later on any of the G3 Macintoshes that do not have built-in USB ports. The original beige G3 systems as well as the early G3 Powerbooks do not have built-in USB ports and are therefore no longer supported by OIT. Apple has also indicated that Mac OS 10.4 will not install on systems that do not have built-in Firewire ports such as the early iMac computers and clamshell iBook.
