Temporary file error when checking e-mail with Eudora
When downloading a virus in Eudora, McAfee Virus Scan will occasionally detect the virus in Eudora's temporary file. It cannot delete this virus, because the file is in use by Eudora. The error message is "An Error occured with a temporary file while transferring your mail". It may also indicated that x number of messages are left to download.
The solution is to exclude Eudora's Spool folder from the scan. Once the temp file is processed and the virus moved to the inbox / attachment folder, Virus Scan will catch the virus.

- Double click on the "VShield" icon in the system tray.
- Click on the System tab and click Properties.
- Click on the Exclusion tab, then click the Add button.
- In the "What to Exclude" box enter Eudora\spool as the relative location.
- Make sure "Include subfolders" is checked.
- Then click OK.
- Double click on the "VShield" icon in the system tray.
- Click the Properties button.
