Internet Connections From Student Computer Centers

OIT manages a number of Student Computer Centers around campus to ensure students have access to technologies for coursework, including online classes. Seating in most of these centers is on a first-come, first-serve basis, with day and evening hours. The sites are equipped with both Windows and/or Macintosh computers and a variety of peripheral equipment. Software includes word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheet, e-mail, and Web browsing applications.

More information, including a list of locations and their hours, is available at http://scc.osu.edu/. For further information on the centers, including schedules for classes, holidays, finals and quarter breaks, hardware and software availability, and equipment changes, send e-mail to scc@osu.edu or call 292-8400.
Important: Proper authentication is required for connecting to the Internet from OIT Student Computer Centers, so be certain your OSU Internet username has been activated. To authenticate, you must open a web browser click the Enable your access link on the computer's home page. To prevent anyone else from using, and possibly abusing, network services under your name, be certain to disconnect when you're finished (click on the Disable your access icon).

Network connections for laptop computers are also available in some Student Computer Centers. For assistance with getting a laptop connected, please see the assistant on duty.
